Jackson McCratic, a high school junior from Prairie Grove, has been selected to attend the 2025 session of Arkansas Boys State, a prestigious leadership and civics program sponsored by the American Legion. The week-long event will take place May 25–30 at the University of Central Arkansas in Conway.
Arkansas Boys State is designed to immerse students in a hands-on simulation of government. Participants are assigned to mock political parties, cities, and counties, where they run for office, pass legislation, and manage civic responsibilities. The program emphasizes leadership, critical thinking, and public service, all under the guiding principle that “Democracy Depends on Me”
As a delegate, Jackson will have the opportunity to engage in leadership discussions, participate in mock elections, and interact with peers from across the state. The experience is not only a valuable addition to college applications but also a chance to build lifelong friendships and gain a deeper understanding of civic responsibility.
Congratulations to Jackson McCratic on this well-deserved honor.
