Academic Growth Recognition

Prairie Grove High School has been recognized as one of the top-performing high schools in Arkansas for student academic growth in the 2024 Outstanding Educational Performance (OEP) Awards. The awards, presented by the Office for Education Policy (OEP) at the University of Arkansas, highlight schools that demonstrate exceptional student improvement on the Arkansas Teaching, Learning & Assessment System (ATLAS) exams.

Top Placement in Statewide Rankings

Prairie Grove High School earned a spot among Arkansas's Top 20 high schools for overall ATLAS growth, ranking 7th statewide with an impressive content growth score of 85.74. This recognition places the school among the best in Arkansas for academic progress in Math and English Language Arts (ELA).

Additionally, the school secured a Top 5 placement in the Northwest Region for ELA growth, ranking 5th with a content growth score of 84.90. This marks a remarkable improvement from last year when Prairie Grove School District placed last in the Northwest Arkansas region for growth. This demonstrates the school’s strong commitment to literacy and student development in reading and writing skills.

Commitment to Academic Excellence

Unlike traditional rankings based on proficiency rates, the Outstanding Academic Growth Awards prioritize student growth, which measures how much students improve compared to expectations based on their prior performance. This metric highlights schools making a meaningful impact on student learning, regardless of demographic factors.

Prairie Grove’s dramatic rise in the rankings is a testament to the dedication of its educators, staff, and students in fostering a culture of academic success. The district’s commitment to continuous improvement and student achievement is evident, and this recognition reflects the hard work put in by the entire school community.
