Congratulations to PGMS 5th grader and virtual student, Benjamin Maksimowki, for his FIRST PLACE win in the global North American Scholastic Esports Federation’s Minecraft and Rube Goldberg Competition!!!! Benjamin competed against roughly 150 teams/individuals, which included some of his fellow GT classmates as well as students from around the nation and the world. And he achieved this first place finish while being a virtual student amidst a global pandemic. Benjamin will receive a $500 Amazon gift card, a 30 minute mentoring session with a Minecraft expert, and a certificate for his first place finish. Benjamin is an excellent example of persevering and remaining dedicated regardless of the circumstances. Way to go, Benji! We are proud of you!!!!!
Last night an initial message was sent out on social media to let our community know that the Board voted to make wearing masks optional. To clarify, the option to wear or not wear masks has been given to everybody, staff and students. We still have some staff and students who would feel more comfortable wearing a mask. Although not mandated for anyone to wear a mask, during these trying times I would ask for all to show respect on both sides of the decision that has been made and finish our school year strong!
Go Tigers!
